Hospice Care at Vanderman Place was founded on the commitment to provide comfort and the best quality of life to those with life-limiting illness and their families. We consider it a privilege to be a support during this chapter.

Our Mission

Our goal is to manage pain and uncomfortable symptoms, administer medication, and acquire any supportive equipment and supplies to make you as comfortable as possible.

Dignity, Compassion & Respect

Individuals with advanced terminal illnesses deserve respect, dignity, and the freedom to spend their remaining time without pain and in the company of those they love. Our compassionate hospice providers are available to answer questions, give guidance, and be a resource where needed. Otherwise, we make space for the patient and their families to do what is best for them.

There is no set time limit for hospice. Though it is typically offered to patients who have received a prognosis of less than six months, hospice care can sometimes extend longer or be much shorter in duration.

Hospice Care supports those with conditions that include
(but are not limited to):

  • End-stage COPD
  • Advanced dementia
  • ALS
  • Stage IV cancer
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Stroke
  • Respiratory/pulmonary disease

Care for the Body and Spirit

While our hospice care staff offers respectful, compassionate medical care, we also provide emotional support resources for patients and their families. When facing mortality, it is expected that many questions and feelings will arise; our team of social workers, counselors, chaplains, and other practitioners are there to offer their services when needed.
